May 2014, it was recommended by the FDA advisory panel the
approval of the new CPR device. February 2015, the US FDA (Food and Drug
Administration) approved the premarket of the ResQCPR system of Zoll Medicalm
Chelmsford, MA. This system is designed to assist in cardiopulmonary
resuscitation performance. According to the company, they expect the new system

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
Basically, the ResQCPR system is composed of two devices.</div>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjIxstOMpzNDmUyn4uUDzEea06mcw2C41e1FqHVe48svlgAtC-vCBvBN1LXmd8FndvGhM1meZeFqxQxmhn3YY3C3SnVeTdrQ4kkhMJiFfpv4HrQ4eBUK-nyoO1jiYB0Ikahod7H2qT-G0Q/s1600/vvg34w4exvwffs.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjIxstOMpzNDmUyn4uUDzEea06mcw2C41e1FqHVe48svlgAtC-vCBvBN1LXmd8FndvGhM1meZeFqxQxmhn3YY3C3SnVeTdrQ4kkhMJiFfpv4HrQ4eBUK-nyoO1jiYB0Ikahod7H2qT-G0Q/s1600/vvg34w4exvwffs.jpg" /></a></td></tr>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
First, the ResQPump. It has a double-grip handles with a
suction cup that will be attached to the patient's chest. This part of the
system is responsible in helping the rescuer maintain the correct compression
rate and compression depth. In short, this is the active
compression/decompression device.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
Second, the ResQPod. It has an impedance-threshold valve
which is place in the patient's mouth so to limit the passive lung inflation
every time the chest-decompression is done. The valve will boost the
intrathoracic pressures and will then enhance the heart and brain perfusion.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
Overall, this new CPR system is created to aid regulate
negative intrathoracic pressure to enhance blood flow during the states of poor
perfusion like in shock and cardiac arrest.</div>

RAI or Radioactive Iodine is a therapy for thyroid problems
such as hyperthyroidism and thyroid carcinoma. It is given in a form of liquid
or capsule (I-131) which, once taken by patient orally, is being absorbed and

hormones and destroys the thyroid cells as well as the thyroid cancer cells but
does not harm tissues of the rest of the body.</div>

bacteria which is resistant to specific antibiotics named beta-lactams. These
include the antibiotics methicillin and other more common antibiotics being
used such as amoxicillin, penicillin, and oxacillin. </div>

National Nurses Week for the year 2013 is
celebrated from May 6, in celebration of the birthday of our Founder of Modern
Nursing, Florence Nightingale up to May 12. It’s a long week commemoration for
nurses around the world both practicing and non-practicing nurses. </div>

Nursing is a noble profession and this entails a
lot of responsibilities. It is associated with well-defined self-integrity,
dignity, and genuine care for others. Nurses are the partners of the
physicians, medical technologies, radiologists, nursing aides, and other health
care providers. They are the advocates of the well and ill patients.</div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; text-align: justify;">
Today, let’s give ourselves and other nurses little
or big appreciation as to their never ending love and care to the needy and
their patients.</div>

</tbody></table>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Our patients are the most important persons that we should take care for when we started to enter the hospital or the healthcare field. They are the main highlights why we ought to take care and why we promise to be an Angel in the sickroom.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
But how do you make you patients happy and alleviate their pains from sickness? Here are some suggestions that we have gathered.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
1. <b>Show that big smile. </b>When you entered the room or pass by them in the lobby, greet them with your warmest genuine smile. Be courteous and be enthusiastic.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
2. <b>Ask how they are feeling.</b> A simple question like asking how they are doing and how they are feeling can alleviate their anxiety. They can able to verbalize and express how they are feeling in that certain moment.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
3. <b>Understand as much as you can</b>. Some patients are irritable and they tend to be annoying to the highest point that you can imagine. As nurses, it's our call to lengthen our patience to this patients. Take a deep breath, sigh, smile, and understand.</div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; text-align: justify;">
Dr. Virginia Soares de Souza was charged with
murder. According to a Health Ministry investigator, the Brazilian doctor has
killed seven patients from a hospital intensive care unit just to free up hospital
beds.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; text-align: justify;">

dependence on artificial respiration then they will reduce the oxygen supply
which can cause death by asphyxia.</div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; text-align: justify;">

me itch.” She also added, “Unfortunately, our mission is to be go-between on
the springboard to the next life.”</div>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Be prepared! :)</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
To start with, we would like to congratulate you for passing the 4-year nursing course. You did a great job! We understand that you made a lot of efforts in finishing the course. You sacrificed a lot of late night parties just to make it here... Graduation.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
We have some tips, gentle reminders on how you can surpass another challenge to encounter. That is, taking the Nursing Licensure Exam.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
You might see it as the most thrilling part of becoming the next Registered Nurse in your own town. We understand that you are either a bit nervous or in a panic state right now. You are pressured because your mom and dad are excited to have an official nurse son/daughter in the family who will always wear that white uniform. You are pressured because your siblings already passed the board exams. You are very anxious because your friends are already professionals. You are anxious because your mom or dad is a Clinical Instructor and you don't want to disappoint them as well as your other clinical instructors. You are pressured because they are expecting too much from you. You are pressured because you don't want to fail your loved ones and friends.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Be calm and knock down the board exam!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br />
<a name='more'></a><br /><br />
You know, we also experienced what you are experiencing right now and we want to share you on how we surpassed those challenges.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>1. Pray. </b>Pray sincerely and pray like it's part of your daily meal. You eat what you pray. It makes you calm and clear the thoughts that bother you. It makes you feel at ease in studying and reviewing your notes.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>2. Study. </b>Study the theories that you haven't discuss before. Surely, your 2 volumes of Lippincott were not fully discussed by your CIs before. Atleast, make an effort to scan your books and read some theories that you never encountered when you were still in college.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>3. Review. </b>Okay, you can't read the entire book now because the NLE is so near! Be calm and review your notes. The <a href="http://nursescalling.blogspot.com/2013/02/pathognomonic-signs.html" target="_blank">pathognomonic signs</a>, related terms, the basics, the CABs, assessment, the nursing priorities, and everything. You can do self review or if you think it's more fun to have review mates then enroll yourself to review centers. Choose the review center that you think is the best for you.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>4. Eat.</b> Don't be so studious and forget to eat. Eat a lot of protein so your neuorons will be nourished. Glucose and carbs are also helpful but in moderate amount. Eat vegetables and fruits so you don't get sick and stay bed rest the whole day.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>5. Sleep.</b> Always makes sure to get enough sleep. Don't study and review for 24/7 my dear! Your brain deserves a rest and good sleep so you can stock a lot of knowledge the next day. If you are sleepy, don't force yourself to finish the notes you are reading... take a nap and read it later!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>6. Play. </b>You only have 7 days in a week and you deserve at least one day rest from all those toxic nursing terms. Allow yourself to unwind and take a rest day from reviewing the nurses notes. Go to the mall, to the park, or in a beach for a day and feel the freedom of relaxation. Just make sure you don't get yourself drunk. It's not the right time to drink until you drop. After you pass the Nursing Licensure Exam, you can!</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
In our daily existence, we encounter many things. Too much of anything is bad for the health and for this reason, there are things that we usually do in a daily basis but tend to not notice the effects of these habits.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
According to studies, these are the top ten habits that can damage our brain.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
1. <b><u>No Breakfast.</u></b> People who do not take breakfast are going to have a lower blood sugar level. This leads to an insufficient supply of nutrients to the brain causing brain degeneration.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
2. <u><b>Overreacting. </b></u>It causes hardening of the brain arteries, leading to a decrease in mental power.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
3. <u><b>Smoking. </b></u>It causes multiple brain shrinkage and may lead to Alzheimer disease.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
4. <b><u>High Sugar consumption.</u></b> Too much sugar will interrupt the absorption of proteins and nutrients causing malnutrition and may interfere with brain development.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
5. <u><b>Air Pollution.</b></u> The brain is the largest oxygen consumer in our body. Inhaling polluted air decreases the supply of oxygen to the brain, bringing about a decrease in brain efficiency.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
6. <b><u>Sleep Deprivation.</u></b> Sleep allows our brain to rest. Long term deprivation from sleep will accelerate the death of brain cells.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
7. <u><b>Head covered while sleeping.</b></u> Sleeping with the head covered increases the concentration of carbon dioxide and decrease concentration of oxygen that may lead to brain damaging effects.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
8. <b><u>Working your brain during illness.</u></b> Working hard or studying with sickness may lead to a decrease in effectiveness of the brain.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
9. <b><u>Talking Rarely.</u></b> Intellectual conversations will promote the efficiency of the brain.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
10. <b><u>Lacking in stimulating thoughts.</u></b> Thinking is the best way to train our brain, lacking in brain stimulation thoughts may cause brain shrinkage.</div>

So, it's March! How's your grades? Are you ready to march the aisle while wearing your graduation toga? Wow! Sounds exciting!</div>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Bachelor of Science in Nursing is a tough degree. It's a 4-year course with many challenges to surpass and many projects to accomplish. Of course, we say tough because we also experienced what you experienced and is experiencing right now.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
By this month of March, we can say that you are in different stages of anxiety. We just hope you have not yet reach the panic stage and please don't go there!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So, here are the simple tips that we can share to you on how to surpass BSN also known as the Bachelor of Science in Nursing.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<ol>
<li style="text-align: justify;"><b>Study and read the book.</b> This is one of the biggest highlights in passing the course. You are not Newton, so you better study hard. Make sure to read your books. Your parents didn't buy you boxes of nursing books just to display them on your study table. Go ahead, open the book and start reading the pages of Saunders, Pilliterri, Lippincott, or whatever nursing books you have there.</li>
<li style="text-align: justify;"><b>The 30 to 1 Hour Rule.</b> It's our own way of saying this. It's our own term for studying, reviewing, and reading. If you want to study because there's a big test coming tomorrow or next week, you better set yourself to study for 30 minutes to 1 hour then take a break for 15 minutes to 30 minutes. Don't study for many hours without taking a break. Trust us, your brain will be drained!</li>
<li style="text-align: justify;"><b>Be with good friends.</b> If you are in university field with different kinds of people studying Nursing, you better befriend those good influential students. Don't go with those who prioritize late night parties instead of late night study. Yes, this might sound like an advice from your parents but trust us this really works.</li>
<li style="text-align: justify;"><b>Listen.</b> Listen to your parents and to other people's suggestion most especially from the Registered Nurses (like us :) hehe). Listen to their advises on how you can pass and graduate from Bachelor of Science in Nursing. </li>
<li style="text-align: justify;"><b>Be healthy.</b> Eat foods that are rich in protein, take your daily those of multivitamins and vitamin c. Sleep as much as you can. Drink plenty of water. Drink milk before you sleep. Don't sleep late and wake up late <b><u>but</u></b><u><b> instead</b></u> sleep early and wake up early then study your notes.</li>
<li style="text-align: justify;"><b>Play</b>. Have time to unwind and take a break from a long week school stress.</li>
<li style="text-align: justify;"><b>Claim it and you shall have it. </b>If you want to pass the 4-year course, claim it that you will pass! If you don't, you will not really pass the course. Always tell yourself like everyday that you will pass this course and you will have a degree.</li>
<li><b style="text-align: justify;">Always Pray.</b><span style="text-align: justify;"> This always work to everybody. Prayer is a powerful tool to survive life challenges. When you kneel and pray for strength and guidance, you will have it. God will always guide you.</span></li>
</ol>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><b>Happy Graduation Day future RNs! :)</b></span></div>

<iframe allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="344" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/uXuqd16y6uQ" width="459"></iframe></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Today, this video has reached 233, 923 and counting views. Senator candidate Cynthia Villar was invited in a GMA show named "Pagsubok ng mga Kandidato" wherein the program host will ask certain questions related to the candidate's opinion and capacities to win the Senator position.<br />
<br />
Winnie Monsod asked Cynthia Villar about the proposal of the Technical Nursing Committee and CHED related to nursing schools to be closed due to low performance. It was followed up by a question regarding the resignation of the Technical Nursing Education Committee after 7 months in office.<br />
<br />
Filipino nurses and others were not pleased by Cynthia Villar's answers.<br />
<br />
<b>As quoted, <i>"Actually, hindi kailangan ng mga nurse na matapos ng BSN. Kasi itong ating mga nurse gusto lang nilang maging room nurse. Or sa America and in other countries. Eh, ano lang sila, yung parang mag-aalaga. Hindi naman sila kailangan ganoon kagaling." -Cynthia Villar</i></b><br />
<br />
By this controversy, Cynthia Villar offended Filipino nurses both practicing and non-practicing. For this, she owes the Filipino nurses a sincere public apology.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div>
<span style="color: #333333;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div>
<span style="color: #333333;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;">1. Every person has cancer cells in the body. These cancer cells do not show up in the standard tests until they have multiplied to a few billion. When doctors tell cancer patients that there are no more cancer cells in their bodies after treatment, it just means the tests are unable to detect the cancer cells because they have not reached the detectable size.</span></span></div>
<div>
<span style="color: #333333;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div>
<span style="color: #333333;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;">2. Cancer cells occur between 6 to more than 10 times in a person's lifetime.</span></span></div>
<div>
<span style="color: #333333;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div>
<span style="color: #333333;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;">3. When the person's immune system is strong the cancer cells will be destroyed and prevented from multiplying and forming tumors.</span></span></div>
<div>
<span style="color: #333333;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div>
<span style="color: #333333;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;">4. When a person has cancer it indicates the person has multiple nutritional deficiencies. These could be due to genetic, environmental, food and lifestyle factors.</span></span></div>
<div>
<span style="color: #333333;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div>
<span style="color: #333333;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;">5. To overcome the multiple nutritional deficiencies, changing diet and including supplements will strengthen the immune system.</span></span></div>
<div>
<span style="color: #333333;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;"></span></span><br />
<a name='more'></a></div>
<div>
<span style="color: #333333;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;">6. Chemotherapy involves poisoning the rapidly-growingcancer cells and also destroys rapidly-growinghealthy cells in the bone marrow, gastro-intestinal tract etc, and can cause organ damage, like liver, kidneys, heart, lungs etc.</span></span></div>
<div>
<span style="color: #333333;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div>
<span style="color: #333333;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;">7. Radiation while destroying cancer cells also burns, scars and damages healthy cells, tissues and organs.</span></span></div>
<div>
<span style="color: #333333;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div>
<span style="color: #333333;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;">8. Initial treatment with chemotherapy and radiation will often reduce tumor size. However prolonged use of chemotherapy and radiation do not result in more tumor destruction.</span></span></div>
<div>
<span style="color: #333333;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div>
<span style="color: #333333;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;">9. When the body has too much toxic burden from chemotherapy and radiation the immune system is either compromised or destroyed, hence the person can succumb to various kinds of infections and complications.</span></span></div>
<div>
<span style="color: #333333;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div>
<span style="color: #333333;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;">10. Chemotherapy and radiation can cause cancer cells to mutate and become resistant and difficult to destroy. Surgery can also cause cancer cells to spread to other sites.</span></span></div>
<div>
<span style="color: #333333;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div>
<span style="color: #333333;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;">11. An effective way to battle cancer is to STARVE the cancer cells by not feeding it with foods it needs to multiple.</span></span></div>
<div>
<span style="color: #333333;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div>
<span style="color: #333333;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;">What cancer cells feed on:</span></span></div>
<div>
<span style="color: #333333;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div>
<span style="color: #333333;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;">a. Sugar is a cancer-feeder. By cutting off sugar it cuts off one important food supply to the cancer cells. Note: Sugar substitutes like NutraSweet, Equal, Spoonful, etc are made with Aspartame and it is harmful. A better natural substitute would be Manuka honey or molasses but only in very small amounts. Table salt has a chemical added to make it white in colour. Better alternative is Bragg's aminos or sea salt.</span></span></div>
<div>
<span style="color: #333333;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div>
<span style="color: #333333;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;">b. Milk causes the body to produce mucus, especially in the gastro-intestinal tract. Cancer feeds on mucus. By cutting off milk and substituting with unsweetened soy milk, cancer cells will starved.</span></span></div>
<div>
<span style="color: #333333;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div>
<span style="color: #333333;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;">c. Cancer cells thrive in an acid environment. A meat-based diet is acidic and it is best to eat fish, and a little chicken rather than beef or pork. Meat also contains livestock antibiotics, growth hormones and parasites, which are all harmful, especially to people with cancer.</span></span></div>
<div>
<span style="color: #333333;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div>
<span style="color: #333333;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;">d. A diet made of 80% fresh vegetables and juice, whole grains, seeds, nuts and a little fruits help put the body into an alkaline environment. About 20% can be from cooked food including beans. Fresh vegetable juices provide live enzymes that are easily absorbed and reach down to cellular levels within 15 minutes t o nourish and enhance growth of healthy cells.</span></span></div>
<div>
<span style="color: #333333;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div>
<span style="color: #333333;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;">To obtain live enzymes for building healthy cells try and drink fresh vegetable juice (most vegetables including bean sprouts) and eat some raw vegetables 2 or 3 times a day. Enzymes are destroyed at temperatures of 104 degrees F (40 degrees C).</span></span></div>
<div>
<span style="color: #333333;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div>
<span style="color: #333333;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;">e. Avoid coffee, tea, and chocolate, which have high caffeine. Green tea is a better alternative and has cancer-fightingproperties. Water--best to drink purified water, or filtered, to avoid known toxins and heavy metals in tap water. Distilled water is acidic, avoid it.</span></span></div>
<div>
<span style="color: #333333;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div>
<span style="color: #333333;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;">12. Meat protein is difficult to digest and requires a lot of digestive enzymes. Undigested meat remaining in the intestines will become putrified and leads to more toxic buildup.</span></span></div>
<div>
<span style="color: #333333;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div>
<span style="color: #333333;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;">13. Cancer cell walls have a tough protein covering. 1. Cells that line the colon are very active,
constantly dividing and creating buds, known as polyps. Most polyps are small,
benign growths that eventually stop growing.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; text-align: justify;">
2. But a tiny percentage of these polyps keep
growing, sometimes for 10 years or more. Various genetic mutations can
transform them into cancerous tumors.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; text-align: justify;">
3. As these tumors grow larger, they gather more
mutations and begin to burrow deeper and deeper into the muscle wall that
surrounds the colon.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; text-align: justify;">
4. Once the cancer invades the blood and lymph
systems, malignant cells can break off and spread to other organs, such as the
liver, lungs, and stomach.</div>

According to <a href="http://ph.news.yahoo.com/lack-sleep-leads-groggy-genes-study-045630277.html" target="_blank">Yahoo! News</a>, lack of sleep is bad for
our genes. Studies have shown that if we practice the habit of lack of sleep,
it has a potential harmful effect on the gene expression.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; text-align: justify;">

<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; text-align: justify;">
Sleep researcher Derk-Jan Dijk and his fellow
researchers have found that sleep six hours or less a night for a week affects
the expression of some 711 genes including those involved in inflammation,
immunity, and stress response.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Bathing an infant might seem like a daunting task, especially for first-timers. Keeping the infant warm and safe are of primary importance.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br />
<a name='more'></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>How to bathe a baby?</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
1. Get everything ready in advance. Once the baby's in the bath, you will never leave him or her for even a moment. This will also alleviate the need to run around with a wet baby in a towel while gathering all the gear together once you are done.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
2. Be sure you're dressed in appropriate clothes-- you will get splashed and/or soapy. Roll up long sleeves, remove jewelry like watches, rings, and bracelets. Many caregivers like wearing a terrycloth bathrobe while bathing a baby.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
3. If you will be in a kneeling position, you may like to use a folded towel to cushion your knees.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
4. You can use a special baby tub, or your clean kitchen sink until your newborn is several months old (depending on the size of your sink).</div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
5.Run the water and check the temperature. You can use your elbow, wrist or a special bath thermometer available in many places. Always test before placing baby in the tub. The water should be comfortably warm to touch but not hot enough to scald the baby.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
6. Line the sink or bath (if necessary--many baby tubs are already lined). If using the sink, place a towel or washcloth in the bottom. This keeps baby from slipping around. It is also handy to do this in a bath if it is slippery. Have a cup handy so that you can have something to rinse off any soap.</div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div>
7. Keep baby's head out of the water. If you have a child that cannot hold up his or her own head, place your left hand on baby's back and gently use this hand to grasp the baby's left upper arm to keep him/her steady. Babies can be wriggly and slippery! Use a cup or your cupped hands to get baby wet.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
8. Use a soft washcloth and begin washing baby. If you wish, you can use a safe baby soap that is very neutral, but it isn't necessary; a gentle scrub and wash down are adequate to keep babies clean. Don't forget to get between all the little creases and behind the ears and under the neck where spit-up and moisture seem to collect. Don't forget to gently clean the genitalia, too.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<div>
9. Wash the hair. If washing hair, lean baby back and gently massage water into hair and scalp. Use cup to pour water over baby's head. You can use baby shampoo if desired but there is really no need. Baby is born with all the natural oils needed to keep the scalp beautiful and shampoos can easily spoil this balance.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
10. If you use baby shampoo, use your hand to create a "visor" to protect the baby's eyes from the soap.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
11. Before rinsing, be certain that the temperature of the incoming water is not too hot!</div>
</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<div>
12. Make sure any soap used is off baby before finishing the bath. Place baby in a towel being careful to cover baby's head. When drying, make sure to dry gently behind the ears and in the skin folds, so that no excess moisture is left there.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
13. Towel-dry the hair as much as possible. The fine hair of a baby will dry quickly. Do not use a hairdryer, as it is unnecessary and potentially dangerous.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
14. Only apply creams, lotions, powders, or oils if directed by a doctor.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
15. Replace diaper (nappie) and dress baby in clean clothes.</div>
</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<b>Gentle reminder: Everything must be within reach before beginning so to ensure the safety of the bay.</b></div>
