Ministry of Health (MOH) of Oman is in need of
around 3000 doctors and nurses.
February 23, 2013 - The Department of Labor and
Employment (DOLE) said that Sultanate of Oman will hire more than 3000 doctors
and nurses from other countries. According to DOLE Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz, this
is because of the presence of shortage of medical professionals in Oman.
Dr. Ahmen bin Mohammed bin Obaid al-Saidi of MOH of
Oman said that Sultanate will face shortage of doctors and nurses in 2015 and
that is around 8,900. They need to hire more nurses from Philippines with
specialization in obstetrics, gynecology, anesthesiology, surgery (neuro and
cardio), intensive care, and psychiatrics.
